"Dip" - Illustration Friday

Helloooo,

Here is my illustration friday "Dip". I wanted it to evolve around that word "Dip" but at the same time stay within the walls of my developing style. I've always appreciated art that has deeper meaning. Art that makes you think. Sometimes you can just appreciate the artist for being able to portray their emotions through imagery and maybe you can find yourself relating through your own interpretation. These are some skills I'm trying to explore and develop through my art. I hope you like.

Leave a comment, let me know what you think!:D

  1. Hi Brittany! Thanks for your comments on my "dip" illo -- I really appreciate it! Your own piece is amazing ... there's so much to ponder between the brush, the clown painting, and the alien dude -- wow! I don't know which freaks me out more, but I'm pretty sure it's the clown. Ha! Rock on ...

  2. Brittany, This is looking pretty good. I'm a big fan of cartoon type art and I like this style the jar looks very nice and I like how I can see the paint disolving off the brush. Good work on this one.

  3. Hi Brittany!...Love the colours you selected for your piece. Are you using Photoshop or Illustrator? I like the way you drew the jar with all the splashes and swirls inside. Nice drawing for this weeks word.

  5. Thank you for your comment on my interpretation of "dip". We both have the mason jar and wood going. I love the jar rendering with the brush. And one of my favorite color combinations is purple/turquoise. Very cool!

  6. That is one wild little dude, dig that you can see his spine protruding and a fun sense of scale.

  8. Hi there! Nice work on the jar, I like the stylized reflections. Personnaly I think it would have been a good idea to try to organize your picture a bit more, to make the foreground and background stand apart, by using different color tones, line work... it would accentuate the feeling of perspective you're suggesting with the guy's hand. Just my opinion of course ;-) keep up the good work!
